Keep dreaming and keep living
So dear readers, the new year 2012 is here so make the best out of it. I don’t know about you but my last year was identical to a rollercoaster and the feelings you get when you ride it. One year is a long period, 365 days, so everything will happen. Well, let’s be more precise and say everything happened to me. As I am not really a person that draws new year’s resolutions I decided to do the opposite this time. Hence, my declaration this year is to make my dreams come true. Yes I know, this may not sound interesting at all or it may not be a new thing since people try to do that all of the time, but I have an explanation for it. As said, one year is a long time during which one could get easily distracted from one’s aims and dreams because of different reasons. Paulo Coelho’s blog post reminded me that what I have been doing lately is exactly that – killing some of my dreams, and that is the reason why I have such purpose this year.
Nevertheless, when I take a look at the past years I realize that quite a lot of my dreams and aspirations have come true and gone in the direction I’ve wanted to (including doing my master degree in Germany). God damn it, it was never easy. Yet, the feeling of excitement, pleasure and satisfaction of such achievements is so great that you don’t want to stop feeling that way.
What I would like to state is that dreams do come true, some take time but it will happen if it’s truly a honest wish. During my second travel to Germany in 2009 I lost my scarf in Berlin. They say if you loose something somewhere you will come back, its superstition but I started to believe in that because almost one year after I returned again to Germany. I am not saying you should start loosing things wherever you go in order to come back but just as a friend of mine says “Returning is a matter of time”. Returning may be sooner or later but you should never give up working on that.
On the other hand, the end is important in everything and so my posts for DAAD’s blog will end here. It has been a wonderful opportunity for me to write and share my experiences with all of you, and also to meet so many interesting people. I hope you have enjoyed reading my articles, and please keep reading this blog because there are a lot of interesting and funny stories of foreigners trying to find their way in Germany. Cheers!

After two intense days of the expo in Delhi, it is time for the DAAD delegation to head to Hyderabad. For me the journey ends here as there will be new Tandem Reporters in the new city. It’s been a roller-coaster journey for me. A great learning experience. On day one I was a bit [...]
by Aditya Yesterday, it was the walk-in fair. So many people pouring in. Young enthusiastic Indians thronged in large numbers with their curious parents. It was tiring yet amazing. Time went away like anything. It was nice talking to so many delegates. It’s really nice to know that they all are interested in talking to [...]
I have never commented, but your articles were nice! Well, I wish you all the best.
