It was a normal Tuesday afternoon, I was busy with my work and quite contended with the return of summer and sunshine but everything suddenly changed. The sky was getting darker every minute and strong winds started to blow out turning gradually into a hailstorm, poor birds were trying to fly off every now and then but could not resist the hailstones and strong winds……
Within minutes the whole forest could be seen swinging to the music of the wild winds. There were beautiful tides in the Bodensee which is not a usual scene at the lake which is generally very calm. Soon after this Konstanz became white with hailstones as if there was snowfall.
Myself along with all my labmates enjoyed every bit of the moment. We collected the hailstones and played them at each other…………. but there was other side to our enjoyment as well…………Due to heavy fall of hailstones there were damages to the houses and cars of some of my colleagues, traffic in the city was diverted, and the local transport was totally disturbed….
It was raining heavily and endlessly. It appeared that there was no end to this rain. But gradually it eased out and finally we could manage our way to home…….

Just in continuation to my blog on Junggesellinnenabschied I follow it up with my friends wedding. I attended the wedding last week. Despite the ‘not so good’ weather during the whole last week, the couple was blessed with the beautiful sunshine. Thanks to the Weather Gods for being so considerate…………;-)
We had planned a surprise for the couple, we decided to greet them with our good wishes, gifts and lots of balloons. Each one of us wrote some wishes on a card with the address of the newly wedded on the other side of the card and tied it to the helium balloons so they could fly high in the sky. And the person who finds these cards would post them back to the couple.
In some cases the cards were heavier enough so the balloons instead of flying started sinking so we tied some more of them to make sure they flew in air.
God Idea ………..Indeed!!!! Later we celebrated the event with Champagne, wine and some soft music to carry on.

Marriage is universal, be it in India, Deutschland or any other part of the world. But there are differences in the ceremonies we have at different places. Nevertheless, all the marriages are big events with lots and lots of fun. I happened to be a part of “Junggesellinnenabschied” of one of my friends. It was great fun,
We dressed the bride in funny looking clothes and all the girls along with the bride went into the city.
There the bride was supposed to sell some cocktails, and jellies etc. The

people in the city centre were also very excited and some instead of paying one euro for one glass paid 20 and thirty euros.
Besides this we had prepared some medals like best eyes, best hair, best face etc. and the bride had to pick one boy from the crowd and award him with the medal. It was great fun and the money, which was collected was handed over to the bride to buy shoes.

I was eagerly waiting for my Easter holidays as it was my dream trip to my favourite destination ‘Paris’. Paris, the capital of France and the heart-throb of Europe, is a beautiful and a romantic city situated on the river Seine. It is an important centre for culture, politics, media fashion and arts, and possesses several iconic landmarks. I began my Paris tour with the tower………and my god!!! I feel that words are not enough to describe the ambiance of it. I preferred to take the stairs up the tower rather than taking the lift just to imbibe the feeling within myself that I was actually in Paris!
Wow what an experience. It was amazing! The

city from the top looked as if I was looking on some cardboard models and not the actual buildings.
The whole city is so lively and cheerful and the aura increases gradually as it gets darker and the city starts to twinkle like the stars and appears even more beautiful at night.
Other places of my interest were Arc de Triomphe which was constructed by Napoleon, Notre Dame, which is not only a masterpiece of French Gothic architecture, but has also been Catholic Paris ceremonial focus for several centuries. The Museum Louvre housed in Louvre Palace consists of the very famous Lovure Pyramids, Egyptian monuments, decorative arts and paintings and the very famous and beautiful painting of Mona Lisa. This is just not enough to describe Paris. The city has lot in store which one can experience only by themselves

Hey!!! its spring time and it seems like the summer is back with a bang!!! It’s a beautiful scene all around, with lots n lots of different kinds of flowers and each having its own magnanimity. When I saw my first autumn of Deutschland, I was amazed by the beauty of nature, the weather change, colour change of the leaves etc.
When people told me that spring is the most beautiful season here, I wondered that , maybe because of such long n chilly winters people here tend to find it more pretty, when spring arrives, but I was wrong!
It is the most beautiful spring of my life. Here I can see almost all the trees filled with buds to bloom apparently without leaves, which leaves me confused at the mother natures fantasies. There are lilies blooming all around the city, the skies are clear again, and the sunset is back again with the same charisma. I just hope that winter does not show its colours again, because they say here that april is a mixture of all the seasons.

Konstanz, earlier known as Constance is amongst one of the most beautiful and historical cities of South-Germany. It borders Switzerland and is located on the Lake Bodensee. It is approximately 1 kilometer from the border between Germany and Switzerland which is a convenient geographic fact and helped them well during World War II. Every night when the rest of Germany would have black-outs in a vain effort to avoid Allied bombing missions, the citizens of Konstanz would leave their city brightly lit. And it worked. The Allied forces thought Konstanz was part of Switzerland and it was never bombed. Clever huh!!!!
But history is not our purpose today.
The river Rhine, which comes from the Alps mountain passes through the Bodensee adding to the beauty of the city as on one side of the bridge lies the river Rhine and on the other side is the lake. One can use the ferries to cross the lake and go to the other side of the lake.
There are some beautiful places across the lake like Meersburg and the island Mainau, which are worth seeing places if one visits Konstanz.
Besides being a beautiful place, it excels in academics as well. The University of Konstanz is an Excellence University as it has proved its worth by competing in the Excellence Initiative and has hence become the smallest and youngest University of Excellence. And is also known as a small Harvard at Bodensee…………

Hi friends,
I come from India, which is very big in comparison to Deutschland and therefore has a much bigger population, so when I first landed here I was surprised to see the scanty amount of people on the roads, in the buses, trams etc. and thought may be its some kind of holiday but gradually I encountered things which were quite new to me like the dogs do not bark and are soooo obedient, the kids do not cry!!! And trust me I haven’t seen a single kid crying since I have come here, anyways my list of surprises will take a lot of time so I can carry on with it some other time. People here have been good and warm which was quite contrary to what I had heard before coming here. All in all its been a good experience till now.
I have seen the beautiful summer of Germany with lots and lots of sunshine, the colourful autumn and the snowy, chilly and the very very long winters. So finally friends after the long dark nights and no sunshine its now time to cheer up again as the spring has arrived. So its time now for more fun!!!!
